3 Months Old!

Howdy Y'all!

I can't believe that my little Harper is 3 months old today.  In some ways, it feels like we have had her forever and in other ways, I can't believe that she has been with us for 92 days.  I love this girl more and more and more and more every day.

This picture isn't great, but she has decided to start bending over when I try and sit her her - so even though this picture is a little fuzzy, I count it as a win since she is actually holding her head up.  :)

We have hit a few milestones this month - and one of them came tonight on her 3 month birthday.  Harper rolled over for the first time from her back to her stomach!  Yay Harper!  I had to call my mom and tell her and while I was on the phone, she did it again.  She is getting to be such a big girl!

Harper also had her first shots this month (early in the month).  Poor baby.

She tried out her Bumbo for the first time and I think she really likes it.

She finally got to watch these Longhorns her mommy keeps talking about - she feel asleep both times they were on TV, but I am sure she will love them more and move as she grows up.

She went swimming for the first time with her cousins Hailey and Ava Grace.  She bath time and just as I thought, she LOVED the swimming pool as well.

Harper is also "talking" up a storm.  Some folks say she takes after her mother.  Me?  No way!  :)  I just wish I knew what she was telling me, but for now, it is so much fun having this little conversations with her.

She finally got to wear her first pair of Converse!  Like mother, like daughter!  I think she looks so cute in them.

I am ready to see what this next month holds - what will she do next?  I wake up everyday anticipating her next development in life.  It is just so much fun watching her grow and learn new things.

I love this munchkin so much and I will leave you with my favorite picture of the month.

10 Day You Challenge, 1 Picture

Howdy Y'all!

It is the last day of the challenge and it is just one picture of me.  So, I will leave you with this one of me and my little sweetheart.

I hope you enjoyed the challenge - I thought it was pretty fun myself.

10 Day You Challenge, 2 Songs

Howdy Y'all!

Oh tonight is about two songs...how on earth do I narrow this down to only two?  If you have known me for very long or read this blog for awhile, you will be able to guess the first one, but now I have to figure out the second one.  I guess it is do or die time.

2.  Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star by Jewel - I can't tell you how much we have listened to this song.  Harper loves it and so do I.  I actually love the entire Lullaby album and I have heard that she is putting out another one.  Love this!

1.  Regulate by Warren G - This has been my favorite song since high school.  I have never wavered.  :) Something about it just puts me in a great mood!  "Regulators, Mount Up..."

I hope you can listen to these and they put you in a great mood!

10 Day You Challenge, 3 Films

Howdy Y'all!

I love movies!  It doesn't take much to entertain me honestly.  I am not a harsh critic of movies and honestly I like just about every movie I watch.  Here is a list of 3 of my favorite movies of all time.

3.  My Fair Lady:  I think I could watch this movie over and over and over again.  I love it so much.  I really love pretty much all musicals, but this one is my favorite by far.  Sometimes I break out into a little "The Rain in Spain...".

2. The Shawshank Redemption: This one may be a little cliche.  I think it may be everyone's favorite movie - but I think I could watch it almost every time it comes on TBS.  There is something about Morgan Freeman's voice as the narrator that I just love!

1.  Forrest Gump:  There was one point in my life I could quote just about every line from this movie.  I used this as the basis of my valedictorian speech in high school and my grandmother was just so proud of me however she had never seen the movie.  Too bad I let her borrow the movie since she was embarrassed that I would use such a dirty movie as the basis of a speech.  Ha!  Wow, if she thinks Forrest Gump is dirty - don't ever let her watch any other movies.  :)

I guess I should also mention that the music is AWESOME in this movie too!

(And, one other thing - if you ever visit Savannah, don't ask to see the bench where Forrest waits on the bus.  It doesn't exist.  :)  Just wanted to give you a heads up!)

Hopefully I have inspired you to watch a great movie or two!

10 Day You Challenge, 4 Books

Howdy Y'all!

It is all about books tonight and how in the world do I narrow this down to just 4 books?  I am going to cheat again and split it into two lists of 4...4 books that I have read recently and loved and 4 books that I am dying to read.

Recent Reads that I Love
4.  The Help.  Of course, this is currently a hit at the movies, but the book is amazing.  I just read it a couple of months ago and I loved it!  My mom, sister and I just checked out the movie this weekend and it was great too.  If you have seen the movie, I would tell you to also check out the book.  So Good!

3.  Heaven is For Real - This is a quick, quick read that is fantastic!  You can get so much out of just a couple of hours of reading.

2.  Growing Up Colt.  It is no surprise that I love the Texas Longhorns and Colt McCoy is my hero so this book was the perfect read for me this summer.  It is a great book about raising your children to succeed and you don't have to love the Longhorns to love this book.

1.  Spoken From The Heart.  I actually read this one about a year ago, but it was so good.  I loved getting a First Lady's take on their life growing up and their life in the White House.

Books I Would Love to Read

4.  The Hunger Games Series.  Okay, I am cheating since this is more than one book, but forgive me.  I have downloaded the first book on my iPad...now I just have to find the time to read it.

3.  The Girl With a Dragon Tattoo Series.  Again, I am cheating.  :)  And, again I have downloaded the first book on my iPad.

2.  My Fair Lazy by Jen Lancaster.  I love, love, love this author!  She cracks me up so much.  She has these hilarious footnotes that make her books such a joy to read!

1.  The Great Gatsby.  I have never read this classic and there has been so much talk about it lately becoming a movie and I would love to read it before the movie comes out.

That's it for tonight.  Happy Reading!

10 Day You Challenge, 5 Foods

Howdy Y'all!

I took a couple of days off because we have been so busy hanging out with family and there just wasn't time to blog.   Today is all about 5 foods - how on earth do I narrow this down to just 5??

5.  Yogurt.  I love it!  It doesn't matter if it is frozen, regular, greek, etc...I love it all!  It is just so darn tasty.  I have recently discovered Coconut frozen yogurt at Orange Leaf.  Yum, yum for my tum, tum!

4.  Five Guys Burger. Okay, we just got this in Northwest Arkansas and I would be lying if I didn't tell you that I am obsessed with it.  It so tasty!  I just get the little bacon cheeseburger and it is almost too much.  Pretty much every night, I ask Tony if we can have Five Guys.  :)

3.  Fondue.  Have you ever had this?  It is probably one of my most favorite restaurant experiences.  The Melting Pot is just so tasty - and it is a great place to go on a date or just with your girlfriends.  The dessert is probably my favorite following very closely by the cheese course.  I really enjoy the Meat course, but if I ever had to choose two of the three...I would leave the Meat out.  Oh my goodness, I think I need The Melting Pot right now!!

2.  Crumbs Cupcakes.  I may be guilty of mentioning this place a time or two.  :)  It is just so, so yummy!

1.  Last, but not least is something that I could eat almost everyday.  Mexican food - I guess I should say Tex-Mex.  I love it all!  When I was growing up, I would not even eat Mexican food.  I was the crazy one that would order chicken strips at Little Mexico.  I never knew what I was missing.

Well, all this talk about food is making me hungry for lunch!  Time to eat some Shep's Bar-B-Q with all the family!

10 Day You Challenge, 6 Places

Howdy Y'all!

Today is all about places...and I am going to cheat a little and give you two lists of six places.  The first will be six places that I have visited and loved - and the second will be a list of six places I would love to visit.

6.  Hilton Head Island, SC/Savannah, GA - I am usually taking the vacation were it is go-go-go all the time and this was a great place just to sit back and relax.  I loved all the bike paths on HHI and the beaches were great too.  Savannah is only a 45 minute drive from the island and that city is just full of history.  I loved it all and I want to go back again soon!  One of the funniest things there is the airport...  If you ever fly into HHI, you will totally understand!

5.  I loved London and I really, really want to go back soon.  After watching the Royal Wedding, I wanted to jump on a plane immediately.  :)  I went when I had just turned 18 and I think that I would really appreciate all the history so much more now that I am older and wiser.

4.  Nashville is just an awesome place.  We have been several times to visit family (Tony's sister lives there) and every time we go, I marvel at the beauty.  I love all the big homes on the plush green acres of land.  And, if you love country music or really any music, then of course it is your town.  Last Christmas, we went to The Grand Ole Opry and it was a hoot.  It's a must if you ever visit Nashville.  And, of course, the biscuits and homemade preserves at the Loveless Cafe are to die for!

3.  San Francisco is just a cool town...just beware of all the hills!  I love the water and the buildings, Alcatraz is great, watching the San Francisco Giants was a blast and the food is awesome!

2.  I <3 NY!  I have been there twice and I can't wait to go back again.  It is amazing to me that a big city would have such beautiful parks!  I have seen a lot there, but there is still so much I want to see...Ellis Island, a Yankees Game, MOMA, etc.  Sounds like I need to plan another trip - and I am sure Harper would enjoy all the sights and sounds of NYC!

1.  And, last but not least is Walt Disney World, of course.  There is just something magical about that place.  I am so excited to take Harper on trips there and I hope she loves the Mouse just as much as I do.

Now on to the places that I would love to visit.

6.  The Great Wall of China - I think it would just be an amazing sight to see.

5.  Yellowstone

4.  The Grand Canyon (and I want to walk on that glass bridge overlooking it)

3.  Mount Rushmore

2.  Paris, France

1.  Italy

There are so many other places I want to go as well, but I already broke the rules and made two lists of six so I guess I will keep them to myself!
